The shale gas boom in the U.S. is transforming the energy marketplace and a wide range of manufacturing industries that rely on natural gas. 

The International Energy Agency issued a report last year titled Are We Entering a Golden Age of Gas? (1). In the U.S., the answer is an emphatic 鈥測es鈥� 鈥� in large part due to the confluence of shale gas resources, hydraulic fracturing, and directional drilling techniques.
