Michael J. Kean, PE, graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in 91成人短视频 Engineering (BSChE).  During his combined 40 years of experience in education, industry and teaching, Mike has always been committed to process safety.   Mike enjoyed a 30+ year career with Dow 91成人短视频 in Northern California.  He worked in various areas such as daily operations, process engineering, design engineering  and automation.  Mike core experience is in reaction and distillation systems.  Mike鈥檚 professional interests include advanced process control, simulation, modelling, and LIMS system management. Mike鈥檚 peers awarded him Dow 91成人短视频鈥檚 Manufacturing Excellence Award. 

Mike is a member of 91成人短视频 (AIChE) Northern California District and the North American Process Technology Association (NAPTA).   Mike has attended AIChE鈥檚 Process Safety Boot Camp.

Mike started his second career as an Adjunct Professor of Process Technology at Los Medanos College.  He quickly assumed overall responsibility as the department coordinator. Mike has taught courses such as Process Technology Equipment, Systems, Operations, and Basic Laboratory Techniques. Mike is a contributor to the NAPTA Process Systems textbooks (continuous reaction, distillation, and stripping and absorption) 

Through a DOE funded grant to Stanforad University, Mike is developing a Carbon Capture Technology Course aimed at process technicians.  

Mike has facilitated many sessions at NAPTA鈥檚 Instructor Skills Conferences.  Topics include integrating AI in education, leveraging LMS platforms, and enhancing hands-on learning. 

In his spare time, Mike enjoys bicycle riding through Northen California鈥檚 many roads and trials.
