Siemens has been awarded a $1.78 million contract to showcase digital twin technology for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
A digital twin is a virtual representation of a real-world product or process. It鈥檚 possible to virtually 鈥渢win鈥 almost anything, from subcomponents of a product to plant equipment to a maintenance or service process. The twin then allows for simulation and experimentation in a risk-free environment.
