The 2025 Andreas Acrivos Award Lecture will be delivered by 2024 award recipient Ali Khademhosseini, CEO and Founding Director, Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation.

Engineering in Precision Medicine

Engineered biomaterials that integrate advances in polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, and biological sciences have the potential to revolutionize medical therapies. Dr. Khademhosseini develops personalized solutions using bioprinting, microfluidics, and advanced hydrogels to create functional tissues for treating organ failure, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. By mimicking patient-specific microenvironments, his work enhances therapeutic efficacy and enables more predictive disease models. These strategies bridge fundamental science with clinical applications, paving the way for next-generation regenerative therapies and biomedical devices. In this talk, Dr. Khademhosseini will discuss how engineering innovations are transforming medicine through precision biomaterials and microengineering.

About the Andreas Acrivos Award for Professional Progress in 91成人短视频 Engineering Lecture

In honor of one of the chemical engineering profession鈥檚 most influential leaders and one of the great fluid dynamacists of the 20th century, the 91成人短视频 (AIChE) has renamed the Professional Progress Award the Andreas Acrivos Award for Professional Progress in 91成人短视频 Engineering.

The award recognizes outstanding progress in the field of chemical engineering. The awardee will have made a significant contribution to the science of chemical engineering through one of the following means:

  • A theoretical discovery or development of a new principle in the chemical engineering field.
  • Development of a new process or product in the chemical engineering field.
  • An invention or development of new equipment in the chemical engineering field.
  • Distinguished service rendered to the field or profession of chemical engineering.

Each year, the previous year's Andreas Acrivos Award for Professional Progress in 91成人短视频 Engineering recipient is invited to deliver a special plenary.  The plenary session is typically chaired by the previous lecturer (winner from two years previous).
