
Sophia Xu (Email: sophia@carbonbridge.io) is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of CarbonBridge. She received a BS in biology from the Univ. of Texas at Austin, working on genetic modification of bacteriophages with computational modeling for bacterial detection through iGEM, Inventors Program Summer Fellowship, and the Undergraduate Research Fellowship. She is the Research Director on the ARPA-E GREENWELLS award and an SOSV IndieBio & HAX Fellow. Previously, she conducted research at the Houston MD Anderson Cancer Center and published results on the interaction of a novel drug on cell viability for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in the Young Researcher journal. Her research interests lie in the application of industrial microbiology for low-energy conversion of waste feedstocks.
