Dr. Jin Zhang is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in California and currently serves as the Hydrogen Research Manager at Southern California Gas Company. In this role, she leads the Hydrogen Research, Development, and Demonstration team, spearheading key initiatives to advance the company鈥檚 operational readiness for hydrogen-natural gas blending.
Dr. Zhang oversees the planning and execution of hydrogen blending research and demonstration projects, while fostering strategic collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners. She also chairs the Center for Hydrogen Safety鈥檚 H2-NG Blending Working Group, where she works alongside leading experts to establish best practices for hydrogen integration into natural gas systems.
Prior to joining SoCalGas, Dr. Zhang spent 15 years in the hydrogen production and energy efficiency sectors, with a focus on steam methane reforming technologies. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University, as well as Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degrees in Energy Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
